Say what?
Ok, so I am a geek. Back in 1993, a mentor said to me: "Learn HTML, there is gold in them there hills." Of course, I did learn HTML, and there was gold, but I didn't get any of it.
Fast forward to 2010. I am still a geek with awesome technical skills, and I am still broke. I sign up as a provider on eLance and oDesk, because I have no job and the tax returns and student loan money is running out. Suddenly I find myself competing for work with really good programmers who are willing to work for two dollars per hour. So I say to myself "Self, it's time to learn a new skillset."
So, I step back and start learning how to market, and how to sell. In particular I want to learn how to sell information online, and set up systems that do it automatically, so I can do more interesting things like play with my kids.
